Personal attributes

Haycock wrote in his 2007 article that less cautious and more extroverted TL's are much successful. I can understand this but many, including me, would have embarked upon careers as TL's because of the perception of the job as quieter and introverted. My two passions are reading and technology, which do beautifully in keeping my more introverted nature happy! As TL's, we must realise the media stereotype of a boring and often cranky person is a common one for a reason, and if we are to change the perception then we must change ourselves. We are our own worst enemy.

Peeps like Nancy Everhart advise TL's to just get out there and look for opportunities to be part of the greater teaching and learning process.
I understand I must take more risks.
